Millar Cameron is an international recruitment consultancy specialising in placing agricultural and FMCG professionals in mid-to-senior level positions across emerging markets. 


One of our key clients, a European-owned multinational agribusiness organisation is looking for a Head of Engineering with strong managerial experience and extensive experience within a factory setting.


This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading organisation in a senior management position which will be highly influential within their Kenyan operations. We are looking for an experience engineering manager or senior engineer, with a background in world class manufacturing environment.   


The successful Head of Engineering will have the following responsibilities: 


• Management of all maintenance and technical engineers across the manufacturing operations

• Support the supply chain by identifying bottlenecks in engineering departments

• Identify and develop training needs across the business

• Ensure that all operations are in compliance with international Health and Safety standards

• Set and review plant’s KPIs and targets

• Cooperate closely with the Maintenance Manager, Supply Manager and Utility Manager to create and uphold optimised maintenance schedules


Required Skills

  • fmcg : 6 to 7 years
  • maintenance management : 4 to 5 years
  • world class manufacturing : 4 to 5 years

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate for the Head of Engineering will have the following skills and experience: 


• Educated to a degree level (BEng/Meng)

• At least 10 years in management positions

• Experience in food, ingredient, beverage production, or similar

• Experience in a World Class Manufacturing environment

• An understanding of Lean/Six Sigma/Kaizen

• Exposure to HACCP 

• Willing to live and work in a remote location
