A leader in the field of precision mechanical manufacturing with its origins in the field of defense industry. An opportunity exists at in (Maitland) for a Continuous Improvement Engineer.


Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in/ or National Diploma Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
• 5 years Manufacturing Experience


Key responsibilities include, inter alia:
• Analyse processes for efficiency gains and waste elimination
• Develop and implement systems and improvement strategies for direct material flown (in plant transport, warehousing and assembly line supply etc.
• Maintain tracking and reporting of continuous improvement projects
• Develop, implement and Mentor a Lean Business Process (LBP) program to drive a culture of
continuous improvement;
• Any non-conformance relating to product, process and systems;
• Develop an understanding of the current manufacturing processes and identify targets for
improvement in transactional and operational efficiencies.


Recommended Competencies and skills:
• Lean Manufacturing methodologies
• Strong Project Management Skills
• Statistical knowledge and labour analysis skills (time studies)
• Good mechanical and technical skills
• Possess excellent leadership abilities, organizational and communication skills
• Computer Literate: MS Word, MS Excel. MS Outlook, AutoCad
