The main purpose of the job is to develop, maintain and manage IT architecture models to ensure that the respective business application, data, systems, infrastructure, and security perspectives are in line with the organisation’s technology and governance strategies, policies and standards.

1. Design, develop and implement ICT architecture frameworks

  • Recommend and develop various ICT architecture blue-prints
  • Align the architectural blue-print with the business strategy, programme plan & industry changes and innovations
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to the Project Board regarding the proposed sequencing of initiatives and programmes
  • Recommend, dvelop and implement various activities related to the design, development and maintenance of the ICT Architecture.

2. Define and align business architectural landscapes to SABS infrastructure requirements and design appropriate business solutions. 

  • Manage JAD sessions and interviews to define business impact assessments.
  • Understand the current functionality of SABS’s business units to ensure that these are aligned into the wider business and ICT architecture blue-print.
  • Identify opportunities for the application of ICT architecture solutions within SABS.
  • Conducts meetings related to the designated project/s to align the various BU strategies with the architecture roadmap.
  • Monitor industry and Communities of Practices to stay abreast with Architecture developments.
  • Influence the SABS programme prioritisation and align to the BU Strategy and BU requirements and expectations
  • Manage and develop business architecture into "fit-for-purpose business models

3. Relationship management with key ICT stakeholders

  • Liaise and build relationship with internal and external clients
  • Develop and define the high-level business architecture requirements to facilitate execution of the SABS strategy
  • Co-ordinate and ensure harmonious working relationships among relevant stakeholders
  • Setup and manage the Business Capability Forum to ensure the filtered ideas which have good ROI or strategic intent will get executed. 
  • Understand the current SABS levels of strategic and operational capability and; actively participate in the development of integrated & aligned solutions that will bridge the gap between current- & future-state capabilities
  • Ensure that appropriate business services or functions are reflected in the overall SABS business architecture
  • Ensure effective management of service level agreements
  • Ensure that effective methods are employed to effectively understand customer’s business needs
  • Deliver high-quality services to clients in a consistent manner.
  • Ensure efficient communication to all stakeholders regarding processes. 
  • Train end-users and ensure end-user acceptance testing is adequately conducted.

4. Optimise own performance within the team

  • Participate as a productive team member by managing own performance in order to meet departmental objectives
  • Contribute to diversity management initiatives and actively build business relationships
  • Seek guidance and mentorship from more experienced team members where necessary
  • Develop, support and mentor employees within the team on an on-going basis as and when required

Candidate Requirements

  •   B Degree/National Diploma in engineering science, computer science or in an ICT related field
  •  Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in the ICT architecture field
  • TOGAF certificate is essential
  • Computer literate (MS office suite, internet, MS Visual Basic, UML, etc.
  • Experience in UML, IT architecture and implementing complex, multifunctional projects is essential
  • Knowledge of IT architecture tools and techniques, software development lifecycle, Unified Modelling Language is essential
