Millar Cameron is an international recruitment consultancy specialising in placing professionals in the food production sector into emerging markets.

 

We are working exclusively with an expanding FMCG company in Zambia who have an urgent requirement for a Head of Supply Chain. Reporting into the Commercial Director, this position will primarily focus on the Warehouse, Logistics and Quality Control departments.

 

The successful candidate for the Head of Supply Chain – FMCG will have the following responsibilities: 

 

• Developing the strategy for the department over a 3-year period, considering structures and KPIs

• Pioneering change and being a key figure in the implementation of best practices

• Overseeing the supply and demand planning processes and creating accurate forecasts

• Providing excellent support for S&OP meetings 

• Reporting on KPIs, SLAs, costs and forecast accuracy and analysing potential areas of improvement

• Managing the Warehouse and Logistics teams, providing training and guidance where needed

• Full budgetary responsibility across the department

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate for the Head of Supply Chain – FMCG will have the following skills and experience: 

 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or similar (Master’s advantageous)

• 8+ years’ experience in FMCG Supply Chain disciplines across various functions 

• Experience working with perishable/short shelf life goods is essential

• ERP (e.g. SAP, Sage etc.) experience would be ideal 

• Experience managing internal and external stakeholders

• KPI driven with strong commercial vision
