MAIN JOB PURPOSE:               

Responsible for ensuring financial management & corporate governance principles are complied within the company, including Materials Management, Planning, Cost Accounting, Inventory Management and interaction with Group Services function (South Africa)

  • Company’s Management Accounts, financial analysis is managed
  • Ensuring that the company’s financial statements are accurate in collaboration with the Finance Department (South Africa)
  • Responsible for performing statistical analysis underlying data and reporting thereof
  • Annual budgets are prepared (Income statement, Balance Sheet & Cash flow including Sales, Capex, Raw Material, Staff costs, opex)
  • Monthly Income Statement is reviewed review including allocations and expenses incurred vs. budget
  • Low or negative GP sales orders are investigated
  • Monthly Balance Sheet review, Job Costing and Provisions
  • Purchase order approvals – check cost, Budget, allocation and necessity
  • Assist auditors with yearend audit supplying information and documentary proof where required
  • Assist in preparation of capital justification projects & ensure CAPEX expenditure in line with budgets.
  • Agreements are reviewed as and when required with Multotec legal department
  • Standard commercial terms of all trade contracts are reviewed with relevant divisional managers
  • Regular interface of business processes with South Africa
  • Reporting of Labour and overhead recoveries and investigation of over/under recoveries when required
  • Report on scrap, rectification costs, overruns and slow moving stock and advice with recommendation to relevant manager
  • Implement, manage and maintain ERP package for Multotec Chile
  • Ensure that team has a performance management system in place and reviewed on bi-annual basis at least
  • Development of direct sub ordinates in their current and future jobs as required
  • Manpower capabilities for the department are planned, selected and developed
  • Company HR and Disciplinary policy is adhered to

Candidate Requirements


Tertiary qualification in Business Admin, Finance or equivalent


  • 5 - 10 years’ management experience in an commercial role and/or mining environment
  • Minimum of 4 year experience in a company with international branches or subsidiaries
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Good English communication skills, with reasoning power and strong oral presentation skills
  • Understanding of business financial, sales, procurement and manufacturing processes
  • Competent user of ERP Systems and Microsoft office and the application thereof
  • Excellent understanding of general business principles, corporate governance, legal, commercial and internal controls
  • Sound people management
