Job description:

Responsible for supporting strategies to increase Division sales and profits while providing premier customer service to the customers, distributors and field sales people. The strategies include product development, competitor and market analysis, training, managing and developing target account and supporting strategic pricing.

Product

Responsible for providing the sales team with the necessary technical expertise to enable them to sell the product.

Responsible for reviewing product data to ensure that the sales force is kept up to date on new developments regarding the companies or competitors’ products.

Act as point of first reference for all product related enquiries and work collaboratively with colleagues in research and regulatory to address any issues that may arise.

Close liaison with the sales team to assess the response to and suitability of product promotions.

Establish programs and procedures to assist sales team achieving profitable volume.

Develop and present product training to sales team, customer service, distributors and customers.

Design market research projects to assess customer attitudes to the current product range and new product introductions. Conduct this research with sales team.

Make recommendations and evaluations on new product opportunities

Assist with the development of the annual marketing plan with the marketing coordinator for the responsible product in regards to advertising, promotion, direct mails, trade and sale conferences and sales aids in accordance with the annual marketing plan.

Responsible for preparing product forecasts in order to support Supply Chain to constantly monitoring inventory levels held at central and interstate warehouses including liaison with production (locally and globally) to ensure supply timelines.

Analysing potential partner relationships for the product jointly with sales team and manager.

Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers.

Developing and implementing a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute.

Understand market conditions and translate them into product requirements resulting in improved customer satisfaction and increased value generation for Parker Hannifin

Participate in helping the Sales team and PSC teams to develop their offerings

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to create a distinctive product vision

Provide internal and external stakeholders with the appropriate updates on progress, vision, product roadmap, etc.

Continue to refine product vision based on feedback from end users, working team, and internal and external thought leaders.

Submit weekly and monthly Rolling forecasting

Support sales team with information regarding pricing objectives

Preparation of a strategic 3 to 5-year growth plan

Update strategic growth plan monthly

Conduct competitive analysis of product lines.

Assist in the development of product and positioning strategies.

Must continuously maintain the highest degree of customer service, throughput, quality, cost reduction and people productivity.

 

Sales

Develops and maintains strong client relationships with OEM and Distributor accounts while meeting position objectives. Ensures Parker products are specified to maintain and increase revenue by prioritizing the opportunities on an account-by-account basis to obtain optimum sales and margin results.

Achieve monthly / quarterly / annual sales and product growth and order bookings targets

Develops and maintains comprehensive technical knowledge of group/divisional products, applications, features, advantages and benefits. Keeps up with internal and external training and development.

Create business plans for all customers providing regular reports on customer performance and activity

Provide the primary customer interface for all product, services and solutions

Facilitate resolution of any customer issues; serve as a central resource for communications with the customer; champion customer needs and requirements within the organisation

Diligent stewardship of CRM software achieving +/- 5% accuracy in order forecasting

Keep fully up to date with and communicate internally on regularly and effectively on market developments, new products, trends, opportunities etc.

Represent and promote the business in a professional and positive manner at all times

Develops and maintains comprehensive knowledge of competitive products and their activity in the market place and provide reports, on a regular and/or monthly basis.

Keeps management aware of changes which would affect the distribution of Parker products. Participates in the development and implementation of appropriate response strategies jointly with the product specialist.

 

Assists the product specialist and in turn divisions in planning strategy to provide the products and service required for their assigned accounts. Actively support cross divisional and other group product with proper referral.


Candidate Requirements

Qualifications and experience :

 

10+ years of product/solution marketing, product commercialization or product management experience with relevant expertise and experience in the hydraulics / motion and control

Knowledgeable in technology.

Engineering degree or relevant work experience of 8 to 10 years.

At least 7 years of sales and business development experience

1 + year supervisory experience

Must have demonstrated applicable product development and project management skills and experience

Project/process management skills required.

Strong computer skills in office applications (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel) and presentation tools (e.g., MS PowerPoint), are critical.

Communication Skills Written & Verbal - Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills. Able to succinctly describe status of business.

Analytical Skills - Ability to use thinking and reasoning in gather raw data and processing that data into a meaningful form.

Business Acumen - Ability to lead others with top notch business concepts and issues; essentially "managing to the P&L" by understanding drivers behind P&L line items.

Project Management - Ability to organize and direct a project to completion.

Presentation Skills - Ability to prepare and deliver professional presentations to customers.
