ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

  • To serve as the day-to-day person in charge of Zambia site personnel in order to support the Support Function Heads and Service Line Heads.
  • Overseeing the daily operations for the company in Zambia.
  • Prospecting, converting and winning profitable business both inside and outside Zambia.
  • Drive Zambia expansion plans, develop processes to ensure the effective rollout of multiple depots in country.
  • Acting as the face of the Company for clients and government in country.
  • Ensure that management systems in Zambia are appropriate to meet the organization’s objectives and enable staff to carry out their work effectively and efficiently.
  • Ensure that directly managed staff are clear about their roles and responsibilities, held directly accountable for their work, achieve the highest possible standards and are appraised regularly.
  • Overall responsibility of all aspects of the operations in Zambia including the implementation and evaluation of policies, campaigns, financial, marketing, logistics, communications and administrative programs.
  • Contribute to the development of a long term strategy and plan for the organization within the core values and objectives.
  • Ensure that the organization fulfils all its legal statutory and regulatory responsibilities in Zambia.
  • Take responsibility for the financial health of the office in Zambia and ensure that appropriate financial and auditing systems are implemented, so as to safeguard the organizations’ financial and other assets, and ensure the organization is run efficiently and effectively.
Candidate Requirements

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • University Graduate, MBA, or similar degree / qualification
  • Minimum 10 years demonstrated working experience 5 of which should be at senior management level.
  • Strong management and organizational skills, including comfort in delegating authority and responsibility.
  • Strong finance background with full understanding of budgeting and P&L management.
  • Excellent interpersonal & negotiation skills, including ability to effectively lead and build a team, communicate a vision, make timely and transparent decisions, solve problems and manage conflict.
  • Proven people management skills in a multi-cultural environment and strong track record of developing people.
  • Demonstrated Leadership and Management skills that effectively motivate staff and support team building.
  • Ability to handle a large workload, work under pressure, independently and with limited supervision.
  • Experience of working in a fast changing environment.
  • Decision-making and problem solving skills.
  • Background in logistics preferred but not essential.
