Job Title – Product Manager


A Product Manager communicates product vision from the highest levels of executive leadership to development and implementation teams. The product manager is often called the product "CEO". The product manager investigates, selects, and drives the development of products for an organisation, performing the activities of product management.

Typical Job Activities

Develops the vision and manages an innovative world-class roadmap of features throughout the product life cycle, from product inception through user requirements analysis, design, technical specifications, product development, internal and user testing, documentation, training, and commercial release
Applies knowledge of mobile operating systems (Android, iOS, Mobi web) to drive the requirements and shape the device experience; understanding the moving parts and nuances
Effectively manages both internal and external partnerships on projects from concept-to-delivery to ensure that products and roadmap priorities get to market per specifications and on schedule
Develops, tracks and presents routine and ad-hoc product performance updates, with the goal of improving conversion rates, number of order and average basket size; lead the forecasting and planning process of the product roadmap
Coordinates product development and delivers across multiple departments like software engineering, marketing, customer services, and user design
Develops communication plans and builds a strategy to engage customers from product conception through to development

Educational Requirements

Senior Certificate with matric exemption
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Project management, or a related field is needed for this position at any university
Additional industry certifications or diplomas in Information Technology or Product or Brand Management at any technikon may also be preferred
Must be fluent in more than one language

Compulsory subjects: Mathematics and English
Recommended subjects: Computer Science and Business studies
