Job title: Pre-Sales Consultant
Report to: Chief Product Officer
Division: Johannesburg

Overall job objective:

Being responsible for the interaction between our new and existing
customers and our global business sales teams. The Pre-Sales consultant
role covers a varied remit from understanding the customer requirements,
architecting a solution, demonstrating our products and services and
initiating proof of concepts.
Package: Negotiable
Responsibilities
• Develop relationship with prospects and existing customers via conference calls, webmeeting
and attending face-to-face customer meetings, as necessary.
• Confidently interact with colleagues in both technical and sales teams.
• Understand and articulate our business and offerings both technically and commercially.
• Design technical solutions that fulfil a customer requirement and fall within a specified
budget.
• Collate, commercially evaluate and articulate product feedback to the product management
team.
• Track and record presales activity using Microsoft Dynamic CRM.

Skills and Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the IT industry ideally in a SaaS or cloud business
• Minimum of 3 years’ Pre-sales experience or equivalent partner enablement experience

Strong technical knowledge of:
• Physical and Virtualized environments
• Competitive backup technologies
• Hyperscale clouds Azure & AWS
• Saas products including office 365
• Operating Systems / Windows / Mac and Linux
• MS Exchange, SQL & MySQL
• Encryption & Computer Security
• Clustering/High availability and Disaster recovery
• Backup as a Service

Further requirements:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to convey complex technical concepts in simple, non-technical language.
• Self-motivation and excellent time management.
• A strong understanding of Backup and Disaster Recovery, its commercial importance and the
associated terminology.
• An inquisitive nature and desire to understand the root cause of a problem.
• Work well in and across teams as well as independently.
