KAMOA COPPER SA is looking for Specialised Officer, DBF
The Kamoa Copper Mine, is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It's a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometers west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometers west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

To organise and oversee the DBF operation in a manner that ensures safety for team and limits adverse impacts. The role includes inspection and maintenance of DBF equipment, maintaining records, and leading production and technical teams by setting performance standards and meeting production targets.
You will have the following:
A high school qualification with the minimum of 2 years' relevant experience in copper smelting. Ability to speak English is a requirement while Chinese (Mandarin), French & Swahili are preferences
Preferably you will have:
A high school certificate with Metallurgical discipline
You will have advanced skills and knowledge in:
- Operation, control and maintenance of flash furnaces
- Troubleshooting
- Smelting methodologies
- Production and smelter SOP
- Ability to deal with emergencies in the plant
Technical Skills should include:
- Metallurgy knowledge
- Production knowledge
- Safety and security knowledge
Personal Competencies should include:
- Problem solving
- Analytical and systematic
- Leadership and managerial / organisation skills
- Risk awareness and management
- Communication skills
Your Key Performance Activities will include but not limited to:
Process: Coordinate and manage teams and work to ensure safe and efficient operations of DBF
