Our Group Practice at our soon to be commissioned, 36-bed, physical- rehabilitation sub-acute hospital in Worcester, Western Cape is looking for an Occupational Therapist to join their team.
The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in rehabilitation, is humble, naturally curious, and self-disciplined, and enjoys working in an environment that places an emphasis on a developmental approach to working and interacting with people (i.e. an individual that enjoys coaching others/being coached by others).
Nurture Health provides medical, acute and sub-acute rehabilitation treatment for people with a wide range of disabilities caused by disease or injuries. These include spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, strokes, neurological disorders, orthopaedic conditions, and other debilitating conditions and illnesses. Our organisation helps people who have become physically or cognitively impaired with the means to lead meaningful lives, regardless of any disability they may have acquired or circumstances they are returning

Candidate Requirements
REQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING:
- BSc Occupational Therapy / Occupational Therapy (community year completed)
- Registered with HPCSA (independent practitioner) and Malpractice Insurance
- Maintain CPD standing as required by HPCSA.
- Bobath / NDT training is beneficial.
- 3-5 Years experience in a rehabilitation environment is required.
- Basic / Intermediate wheelchair training is beneficial.
- Special interest and broad experience in Orthopaedics, Neurology (CVA/TBI and SCI) and Vocational readying.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Knowledge of the ICF Framework with good written and spoken English language skills.
- Effective interdisciplinary team member.
- Awareness of evidence base for interventions.
- Computer literacy (Beginner/intermediate Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook).
- Experience coordinating projects, people, or services.
- To foster therapeutic relationships in the inter-disciplinary team by developing joint goals, sharing information, and promoting a collaborative approach to patient and family care and outcomes.
- Available to work on a weekend / public holiday on rotation.
