Our client, a premier supplier of building solutions in Southern Africa, invites the applications for a National Sales and Operations Manager (South Africa), based in KZN
Primary purpose of the position is to oversee and drive the company's sales and operational strategies, ensuring that the company achieves its revenue, profitability, and market share goals.

Key aspects of this role include:
1. Sales Leadership: Developing and implementing a national sales strategy that aligns with the company's objectives. This involves setting sales targets, identifying key growth areas, and ensuring the sales team is focused and motivated to achieve these goals.
2. Market Expansion: Identifying and capitalising on opportunities for market expansion, including new geographic areas, sectors, or customer segments. The manager must have a deep understanding of the South African market dynamics and the ability to adapt strategies to different regions and consumer needs.
3. Operations Management: Ensuring the operational aspects of the business are efficient and effective. This includes overseeing production management and quality control to meet customer demands promptly and to a high standard. Efficiency in operations is crucial for delivering customer satisfaction and profitability.
4. Customer Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with key customers, including contractors, architects, and developers, to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business. This involves understanding customer needs, providing technical support, and ensuring a positive customer experience.
5. Team Leadership and Development: Leading, motivating, and developing a diverse team of sales and operations professionals. This includes recruiting top talent, setting performance standards, and providing ongoing training and development to enhance team capabilities.
6. Financial Management: Overseeing budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation to ensure the business remains profitable and sustainable. This includes monitoring sales performance and operational costs, making adjustments as necessary to meet financial targets.
7. Regulatory Compliance and Sustainability: Ensuring that all sales and operations activities comply with local laws, regulations, and industry standards, including those related to safety, labor, and environmental sustainability. This also involves adopting green practices and materials where possible to minimize environmental impact.
8. Strategic Partnerships: Developing strategic partnerships with suppliers, distributors, and other stakeholders to enhance the business's market position and operational capabilities.
9. Adaptability and Innovation: Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and technological advancements. Innovativeness in finding solutions to challenges and leveraging opportunities for growth.
10. Brand and Reputation Management: Promoting the company's brand and reputation in the market, ensuring that marketing and promotional activities are aligned with the company's values and objectives.

Candidate Requirements
Education/Qualification/Experience:
Relevant Bachelor’s degree (Business / Sales / Operations / Management) or Equivalent (Advantage: MBA or PGD)
Work experience:
8 to 10 years sales management experience within a supplier / distributor (construction / building / steel / engineering / aluminium / metal) environment.
8 to 10 years operations management experience in a large service or manufacturing company.
