Exciting opportunity for a qualified chartered accountant with a boutique accounting firm specializing in technical accounting consulting/CFO advisory services. Our clients consist of reputable international accounting firms, mainly US based. We typically perform the following specialist services to our clients, which is what the successful candidate will also be doing:
- Mergers and acquisitions accounting
- IPO/SPAC readiness assessments and accounting
- Step-up accounting from private company to public company
- Conversion accounting such as US GAAP to IFRS, IFRS to US GAAP, etc.
- Technical memo preparation for complex accounting positions
- Audit readiness
- Financial statement preparation (various reporting frameworks)
- Etc.
This is a full-time position, and the candidate will be working from home (i.e. remote). Some local/international travel might be required from time to time, on an as needed basis.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will be a qualified chartered accountant with at least 2 to 5 years’ post-article experience, preferably within a technical accounting role with a reputable accounting firm. Candidates with a strong external audit background from a Big 4 firm, who would like to make the move into the world of technical accounting, would also be considered for this role.
Required experience:
- Bachelors degree in accounting
- Qualified chartered accountant – active registration
- 2 to 5 years post-article experience
Desired skills:
- Detailed technical knowledge of IFRS (US GAAP would be an advantage)
- Excellent writing and oral communication skills
- Strong client service skills with the ability to interact with all levels of management
- Ability to work autonomously
- Detail-oriented
- Strong analytical and reasoning skills
- Ability to work seamlessly with a variety of reviewers, managers and partners
- Willingness to take on various types of projects and become a resource to staff of all levels
- Awareness of current developments affecting area of expertise
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
