The primary objective of this role is to manage the partner relationship end to end, between the bank and the partner including: Leading the acquisition of partnerships in line with the bank’s strategy.
Main duties
Treating customers fairly and compliance
- Create and maintain productive relationships with internal and external clients by providing advice and assistance.
- Create understanding of the ‘real’ versus ‘perceived’ need through experience and expertise while complying with company policies, legislation and regulations.
- Keep the client informed about progress through written communication, telephone communications, and/or face-to[1]face meetings.
- Build a positive image by exceeding client expectations at all times.
- Treat internal and external customers fairly at all times.
Acquire and implement new partners (Reposition and future proof)
- Drive the business in complex programmes, spanning multiple capabilities and/or disciplines.
- Deliver strategic change, through the outcomes of complex project portfolios and programmes, that are insightful and pragmatic within both our clients customer/business interface, and core operating platforms.
- Change that leverages international benchmarks, fused together with the reality of the local context our client’s businesses operate within. So that, in partnership with our
- clients' delivery teams, we collectively deliver the benefits and outcomes that are beyond the reach of ordinary people.
- Establish, develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Effective stakeholder management and communication on all levels.
- Manage the conclusion all contractual artifacts (NDA, HOA and MSA) by facilitating the process, agreeing content and obtaining mandated signatures.
- Conduct extensive due diligence on the potential partner.
- Evaluate and confirm conceptual synergies of mutual services between the bank and the potential partner.
- Evaluate, in conjunction with subject matter experts, the capabilities required.
- Consult with relevant stakeholders to baseline and formalise partner requirements, including targeted architecture, operational requirements and roles & responsibilities.
- Assess commercial viability and negotiate commercial terms with the potential partner.
- Develop the business case for the partnership.
- Register the project with the project management office (PMO) for implementation.
- Increase the depth of knowledge within the delivery team, and guide solutioning.
- Deliver results, taking initiative to get the job done as per the business case, together with the required management of change within complex stakeholder ecosystems.
- Apply critical thinking and problem-solving abilities (from a customer-centric, fact-based perspective), to guide both multi-skilled delivery teams and client stakeholders, in achieving value driven results and intended benefits.
- Define and agree on dashboards and management strategies (Risk, communication, quality & configuration) to enable visibility for all involved stakeholders throughout the programme.
- Obtain internal and external approvals, where relevant.
- Obtain regulatory approvals, where relevant.
Manage the existing portfolio (preserve)
- Manage the existing partner portfolio to meet strategic and business goals.
- Manage the account and provide related reporting to key stakeholders.
- Meet financial targets set for the portfolio.
- Deliver results, taking initiative to get the job done as per the business case, together with the required management of change within complex stakeholder ecosystems.
- Apply critical thinking and problem-solving abilities (from a customer-centric, fact-based perspective), to guide both multi-skilled delivery teams and client stakeholders, in achieving value driven results and intended benefits.
- Build key and meaningful client relationships as well as ensuring the effective delivery of appropriate communications to all stakeholders.
- Quality assurance and delivery oversight to ensure successful execution of the team’s efforts and fit for purpose adoption of the outputs.
- Drive both client demand and support the relationship sales process.
- Manage contractual terms and business performance.
- Manage partnership, in line with Platform Banking governance, and conduct regular review meetings.
- Deliver performance scorecard for monthly business meetings.
- Facilitate and document monthly business meeting with partners.
- Drive continuous improvements and generate new services and cross-sell opportunities.
- Identify migration / exit solution (where relevant)
- Comply with and complete due diligence to ensure that the related projects outputs contribute to portfolio success.
- Comply with existing governance processes and ensure all governance interventions are documented and stored for audit purposes.
- Continuously improve on platform banking governance processes and obtain buy-in from executives by recommending improvements in process.
Reporting, Governance and Compliance
- Upload all programme governance artefacts to the central
- repository.
- Reputational risk management.
- Participate in initiatives from industry bodies and regulators where relevant to Platform Banking.
- Stay abreast of local and international trends related to Platform Banking
Monitoring and controlling
- Track and manage programme requirements during the programme lifecycle and incorporate project changes into programme deliverables through an established change management process.
- Contributes to intellectual property by documenting and logging all programme information in the appropriate knowledge base.
- Monitor existing partner performance by preparing monthly business scorecards and facilitating monthly business meetings.
Delivery and Support
- Pro-actively identifies and escalates project risks, issues and any unresolved issues that impact the programme to the programme sponsor.
- Ensure that the delivery of outputs from the Projects is in line with the programme and strategic objectives of the business by monitoring and tracking deliverables.
- Work closely with the related project resources and in some cases external service providers to deliver against programme outcomes.
- Lead the relevant programme team in and act as the liaison between various related projects by ensuring all outputs from projects are of an excellent quality.
- Lead and facilitate programme steerco meetings, driving deliverables to closure.
- Provide regular updates to all programme stakeholders on the progress of the programme and provide necessary support to all project stakeholders.

Candidate Requirements
- Business Science /Bcom Degree in Information Systems/Informatics (Honours), or BSc Eng, BEng. Certifications: MSP, PRINCE2, PMBOK and /or Agile related training (SCRUM or equivalent experience).
- Certification in Product Management (AIPMM).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a digital banking environment with the financial services sector.
- Minimum of 5 years’ technology experience 3 years of dedicated Portfolio & Programme Management.
- Minimum of 5 years’ external relationship management experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience implementing retail banking projects from start to finish.
- Direct experience in the design and management of digital products in the financial services industry.
- Direct experience in managing transactional products in a retail banking environment.
