Our client in the Retail Industry, requires the services of a Storeman to manage inventory, receive and dispatch goods, maintain records.
Key performance areas:
- Receive incoming goods, verify against invoices or orders, and ensure accurate documentation.
- Store goods in designated locations, ensuring proper handling and storage procedures are followed to prevent damage or deterioration.
- Maintain inventory levels by conducting regular stock checks and reordering supplies as needed.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and production, to fulfill orders and support operational requirements.
- Monitor stock movement and update inventory records using computerized systems or manual logs.
- Assist with inventory audits and investigate discrepancies as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store area, including shelving, bins, and storage racks.
Candidate Requirements
The successful candidate must have:
- Matric with relevant qualification
- At least 1 years’ experience in warehouse or logistics environment.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
