Vacancy Details
· Installing and assembling new machines and equipment.
· Diagnosing, trouble shooting and repairing machine and equipment failures.
· Installing original and/or replacement parts.
· Using power tools and different hand tools to complete assigned maintenance tasks and work orders.
· Following industry best practices, SOPs, LOTO procedures, and other safety guidelines.
· Logging performed maintenance work through the maintenance programme.
· Assist with welding operations.
· Updating maintenance schedules for all machinery and equipment.
· Inspecting control panels and electrical wiring to detect any issues that require immediate attention.
· Inspect completed work for compliance with standards.
· Completion of inspection checklists.
· Work overtime, standby and be available for callouts should the need arise.
· Respond to emergency calls for maintenance and repairs.
· Taking inventory of maintenance supplies and notifying the head of department of low or depleted supplies.
· Ensuring that all maintenance equipment is in good working order.
· Inspect on a routine basis electrical equipment, wiring, fixtures, and other components to ensure they remain functional and are up to code, as well as to identify any hazards or issues.
· Determine the reasons for any malfunctions of systems or components and create a maintenance or repair plan to solve the problem.
· Repair electrical systems, wiring, circuit breakers, equipment, and other components so that they remain at full functioning capacity.
· Test systems with devices such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and ohmmeters to ensure the system remains safe and that components are compatible.
· Provide suggestions on the lifespan of equipment and other electrical components, advising when certain components should be replaced due to potential risks.
· Keep records of all maintenance and repair work conducted, including a record of any supplies ordered and used.
· Ensure all routine maintenance work is handled on a regular schedule to reduce the risk of larger and more complex issues and to reduce costs.
· Engage in corrective maintenance for unplanned issues.
· Providing maintenance support to other departments.
· Contributing to the achievement of production goals.
· Maximizing asset uptime to avoid disruptions.
· Increasing asset life cycles with routine care.
· Updating and maintaining asset and preventive maintenance task information.
· Coordinating PM activities with maintenance and production departments.
· Analysing downtime data to develop effective preventive maintenance procedure.
· Adhere to all Health and Safety requirements.
· Walk the production lines and identify issues before they become breakdowns.
Required Skills
- Technician: 4 to 5 years
- Millwrights: 4 to 5 years
Candidate Requirements
· Must be fluent in English.
· Fair knowledge of industrial equipment and machinery
· Very good physical condition
· Excellent co-ordination
· Good time management skills
· Great interpersonal and communication skills
· Valid driver’s licence with own transport
· Trade test qualified millwright.
· Minimum 5 years work experience in a similar role.
· Proficient in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues.
