Job Description:
ENVIRONMENT:
This Cape Town based company requires an Environmental Architect
to join their team. You will need a B.Sc. or equivalent in computer
science, computer engineering or a technically related field. Five
years commercial experience in software development. Please apply

DUTIES:
1. Work in conjunction with the Technical Architects in order to
deliver an integrated strategic approach to solution delivery.
2. Improve efficiency in R&D through environmental
enhancements and automation.
3. Championing environmental standards.
4. Build and maintain environment dependencies map for key
delivery infrastructure.
5. Assist in defining build environment, version control and
release management best practice.
6. Evaluation and recommendation of tools.
7. Mentorship of development teams in build environment, version
control and release management best practice.
8. Identification and implementation of improvements in our
build and deployment processes.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. B.Sc. or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering
or a technically related field.
2. Five years commercial experience in software development
3. Two years proven experience of improving efficiency in
software teams by automation and/or environmental enhancements.
4. Experience of defining and enhancing build environments,
source control management and release management.
5. Ability to train teams to manage their own environments and
processes.
6. Extensive experience on Unix/Linux OS.
7. Expertise in Python and Unix shell scripting.
8. Highly developed analytical problem-solving skills to
identify and solve complex problems.
9. Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle.
10. Strong design skills with ability to document the
designs.
11. Strong leadership skills with good communication skills to
influence and gain cooperation.
12. Knowledge of C++ or Java is an advantage.
