Job Specification
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To ensure the efficient running of the department with
optimal nursing care.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintaining and improving standards in the Unit.
- Facilitation of Quality Management and Risk Management in the
Unit.
- Cost-effectively managing all related nursing services and
activities in the Unit.
- Meeting deadlines in an environment laced with a variety of
challenges and interruptions.
- Applying all aspects related to Human Resources, including
performance management and disciplinary procedures.
- Identifying and pro-actively addressing problem areas, develop
action plans for improvement.
- Service delivery to all patients and doctors.
- Maintaining and enhancing relationships within the
multi-disciplinary team.
- Problem-solving.
- Ensuring operational efficiencies and ensuring best practice in
the Unit.
- Keeping abreast with current development and trends in area of
expertise.
- Effectively organising all systems and processes in the
Unit.
- Effective time management.
- Honesty and integrity.
- In-service training and development of all staff.
- Equipment and instrumentation management and control.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Registration with SANC as a Registered Nurse.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience as Registered Nurse in a
Hospital Environment.
- Any managerial or relevant business education will be
advantageous.
- Computer literacy.
- Proficiency in English.
- Sound knowledge of a Budgetary Process.
- Flexible working hours as per the need of the business.
- Ability to work under pressure and to function
independently.
