Job Description:
Production Supervisor, Midrand. R10-12000 depending on
experience.
KNOWLEDGE
- Tertiary qualification - Supervisor/production/production
planning (an advantage)
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years relevant experience
- Drivers license : Codes 8
- Knowledge of BCEA and OHSA rules and regulations, HACCAP an
advantage

OUTPUTS
- Supervise production line operation in accordance with company
policies and procedures.
- Planning and organizing of daily tasks according to production
plan
- Responsible for shift schedule to include: workstation
assignments/rotations, employee breaks, back-up for absent
employees, and shift rotations.
- Coordinate production startups, shutdowns, and
changeovers.
- Responsible to meet shift production goals.
- Responsible to meet department productivity and quality control
goals. Make adjustments as necessary during shift to produce
product within specifications. Reduce product rejects. Reject
product outside of specifications
- Coordinate and plan printing of labels for production.
- Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Communicate with Production Pharmacist; regarding problems,
productivity, quality issues, staffing.
- Ensure a clean and safe work area.
- Complete shift paper work.
- Assist in production as necessary.
- Coordinate department activities and special projects to ensure
quality and meet timetables.
- Liaison with manager on a regular basis on relevant
matters
- Take responsibility for handling all labour disputes
- Take responsibility to initiate and prioritise meetings as
required with appropriate parties
- Take responsibility to apply and adhere to all safety and
health legislation in the work place
- Take responsibility and be a member of Health and Safety
Committee
- Take responsibility to ensure that all employees wear the
appropriate safety gear and complies with all OHSA measures
- Take responsibility for the immediate reporting of any safety
and health issues
- Take responsibility that all equipment is correctly
maintained
- Take responsibility for preventative maintenance program in the
production facility
- Take responsibility of logistics within the company, scheduling
of drivers, cost analysis of vehicles and vehicle maintenance
- Take responsibility for printing and maintaining label stock as
required.
- Take responsibility for Research and Development projects that
need to be completed.
Stock control
- Take responsibility for all stock items (materials, equipment,
tools, etc.) in production area, maintain levels and minimize stock
adjustments.
- Assist in buying of stock items, ensuring correctness, planned
arrival and correct storage
- Take responsibility for checking of new materials on arrival,
label printing and put aways
- Take responsibility for daily stock control
- Take responsibility for daily processing manufactured goods
onto Pastel Evolution
- Take responsibility for cycle counts of inventory
General
- Take responsibility for any irregularities (theft, use of
illegal subsistence, etc)
- All performance related tasks as required
- Comply with new HR Policies and Procedures.
- Ensure production processes are followed and completed.
- Ensure all machines are well maintained and serviced.
- Ensure production targets are met timeously.
- Ensure the quality of the products is maintained.
- Ensure production figures are reported on ERP System.
- Ensure Raw- and Packing Material stock are received in good
condition and stock levels are maintained.
- Ensure the ISO 9001:2008 Management System standards maintained
in production facility.
- Update standard operating procedure as part of continuous
improvement program
- Implement GMP into production facility - part of continuous
improvement program
- Manage and motivate staff in production department. Take
responsibility to apply and adhere to all safety and health
legislation in work Take responsibility for reporting of any
irregularities (theft, use of illegal subsistence, etc) to
Manager.
