Job Description:

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum National Diploma in Safety Management or equivalent ideally B-Tech with Occupational Health and Safety or Hygiene.
• 2 years relevant experience.
• Code 08 driver's license.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish OHS systems for business units to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
• Carry out all administrative requirements of the relevant acts.
• Promote awareness on the importance of adherence to statutory requirements and meet submission deadlines of legal documents to the Department of Labour through the Manager: OHS and disaster.
• Formulate procedures relating to OHS, COID as well as Disaster Management and ensure implementation thereof.
• Assist the business units in investigations of minor and major incidents and produce monthly reports on recommended corrective and preventative actions.
• Conduct pro-active inspections and ensure that relevant legislated inspections are also carried out by the business units.
• Co-ordinate safety specifications in reaction to changes in the OHS legal environment and other requirements.
• Ensure appropriate protective clothing and safety equipment is provided as required by law. Liaise with the Health and Safety committees and liaise with procurement for accreditation of safety equipment suppliers.
