Job Description:
A large opencast mining project requires a qualified Mechanical
Engineer with an experience base in materials handling, rotating
machines and piping. Job office mostly in JNB / Bryanston with
extended periods on the mine site near Kathu, Northern Cape during
the construction and commissioning phases
Education
Preferably a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, alternatively
at least T3/N6 Diploma
Key Deliverables
Projects engineering / Design heat exchangers, pressure vessels
and drums
Facilitate new developments, designs and maintenance to be
implemented at mine site
Use piping material, design pressure and temperature to
calculate loads in pipelines
Analyse piping isometric drawings and calculate whether
pipelines comply with design codes
Analyse the yearly lifecycle costing and maintenance costs of
automated drilling zones of mine compared to the handheld drilling
zones
Sign off design sketches to working with Process Engineers on
P&ID (Piping & Instrument) diagrams
Assisting with the procurement process of equipment needed for
projects

12 month contract
