Assistant Director: Forestry Transfers (Ref 17/2012)
Directorate: Commercial Forestry
Salary: R 221 058 per annum
Centre: Pretoria
Requirements:
- Applicants must be in possession of a Bachelor’s degree in
Management and/or Natural Sciences.
- Knowledge of and experience in Public Service procedures and
systems.
- Experience in the management of transfer projects;
implementation of the transfer of commercial forest plantation and
indigenous forests programmes; development of a transfer project
plan; co-ordination and facilitation of the transfer negotiation
process; and resolving disputes.
- Communication, negotiation, human relations, procurement,
project management, financial management and team leadership
skills.
- Working knowledge of and experience in the National Veld and
Forest Fire Act, 1998 (Act 101 of 1998) (NVFFA), the National
Forest Act, 1998 (Act 84 of 1998) (NFA) and other environmental
legislation.
- Willingness to travel long distances and work after hours.
- Ability to take initiative.
- A valid driver’s licence.
Duties:
- The incumbent will be responsible to co-ordinate and implement
a programme for the transfer of commercial forest plantations and
indigenous forests.
- Manage all transfer projects and the liaison and negotiation
process with stakeholders.
- Resolve disputes resulting from the transfer process.
- Develop programmes of action.
Note: Candidates will be subjected to a skills/knowledge test in
MS Offi ce software.
