DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH

General Specialist and emergency Services)
Administration Clerk: Support (Nursing Services)
Remuneration: R 101 007 Per annum
Service Benefits: 13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance.


Requirements: minimum educational qualification: Senior Certificate (or equivalent).

Experience: Appropriate experience.

Competencies (knowledge/Skills):

  • Good interpersonal relations with supervisor, colleagues and the public
  • Knowledge of and exposure to relevant policies and legislation applicable to the Public Service
  • Good telephone etiquette
  • The ability to communicate (written and verbal) in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Word
  • Ability to analyse available data and compile reports.

Duties (key Result areas/outputs):

  • Provide general administrative support for all operational activities of the Nursing Department
  • Arrange the Department's meetings, events and workshops
  • Collect and monitor receipt of data/information for the compilation of reports
  • Maintain a database to collate, store and manipulate data to strengthen implementation and monitoring systems (staff work allocation lists, night duty hours, Sunday and public holiday hours, overtime hours, courses attended, etc.)
  • Provide administrative support to, and undertake additional tasks assigned by the department head
  • Provide support with provisioning and procurement functions of the Nursing Department
  • Provide assistance to the office of the Head of Institution and Head of Clinical Services in the absence of the allocated clerical support staff.
