DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH


Administrative Officer: Registry (Medical Records)
Remuneration: R 149 742 Per annum
Service Benefits: 13th cheque, employer’s contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance.


Requirements: minimum educational qualification: Senior Certificate (or equivalent).

Experience: Extensive experience in records (Registry/Archive) environment.

Inherent Requirement of the job: Must be willing to work flexi-time.

Competencies (knowledge/Skills):

  • Knowledge of the National Archive Act 43/1996
  • Good knowledge of Labour Relations
  • Supervisory skills
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape
  • Computer literacy.

Duties (key result areas/outputs):

  • Manage the operations within Medical Records efficiently and effectively
  • Supervise staff in accordance with Human Resources policies and procedures
  • Implement and monitor relevant policies and procedures
  • Responsible for checking all registers on a weekly basis
  • Manage the destruction of folders and x-rays
  • Check the quality of staff members work regularly.
