Education:
B.Sc./ B.Eng Mechanical Engineering degree from recognized South
African institute
Professional registration with the Engineering Council of South
Africa (ECSA) preferred
Additional Project Management diploma would be advised
Skills Required:
Preferably 15 years working experience in the engineering
field
Min 8 years relevant experience in the EPCM environment
Experience on large Minerals and Metals project will take
preference
Track record of managing multi-discipline design teams
Experience of front-end development work
Proven ability to work with minimal supervision
Proven ability and willingness to manage the technical schedule
and to meet agreed deadlines
High level of understanding of management of interfaces across
multi-functional groups
Excellent interpersonal skills
Proven team builder
Excellent report writing skills and able to effectively
communicate and document events
Preferably have experience in materials handling design
(sub-surface and surface) including conveyor and headgear
systems
Job Description:
The primary responsibility is coordinating all engineering
activities within an integrated Project Delivery environment. To
manage Engineering multi-discipline technical quality, safety,
interfaces, schedule, and progress, for a leading EPCM contractor,
operating across four Customer Sector Groups, Hydrocarbons, Power,
Minerals and Metals, and Infrastructure and Environmental. Must
have strong communication skills with peers and customers,
demonstrable team leadership ability, and have proven experience in
the modern EPCM work process, including work share. The specific
opportunity is for an Greenfield underground Coal Mine complete
with shaft, underground infrastructure, underground materials
handling, surface materials handling, surface infrastructure,
utilities and services to support a facility with of a capacity of
around 10 mta. The candidate will need to demonstrate technical
experience with regards to this type of similar facilities.
