Education:
B.Sc./ B.Eng or B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering degree from
recognized South African institute
Professional registration with the Engineering Council of South
Africa (ECSA) preferred
Specialist materials handling knowledge and courses would be
highly recommended
Skills Required:
A minimum of 8 years working experience in the mineral
processing industry
Preferably 4 years of relevant project experience in theMinerals
& Metalsfield
Preferable 4 years experience in the engineering, specification,
detail design and management of material handling systems,
including conveyers, chutes, bins
Job Description:
Reporting to the Chief Mechanical Engineer, the successful
candidate will be supervising, assigning, and schedules the
Mechanical Engineering activities for a specific Area / Unit under
the functional direction of the Discipline Chief Engineer and line
direction of the Lead Mechanical Engineer or Project Engineering
Manager. It may be required to supervise small groups of engineers,
designers or detailers. This would be for projects in the Mining
and Minerals Customer Sector Group. The role will include compiling
and submit project mechanical design specifications, equipment data
sheets, equipment material requisitions, technical bid evaluation
reports and other engineering deliverables for issue for Mechanical
Equipment, mostly pertaining to Material Handling Equipment.
