Senior Internal Auditor
Centre: Directorate: Internal Audit, Head Office, Pretoria

Salary: Commencing: R 185 958 per annum
All Inclusive: R 252 509 per annum

Requirements: A relevant three-year tertiary or equivalent qualification in Internal Auditing and two years technical experience.

Knowledge and skills:

  • Knowledge of labour legislation relevant to the post (Public Finance Management Act, Treasury Regulations and guidelines)
  • Organisational and government structures
  • National Treasury Internal Audit Framework
  • Internal audit concepts, framework and methodologies
  • Public Sector Risk Management Framework
  • King Report on Corporate Governance (II & III)
  • Framework for managing performance information
  • Departmental Internal Audit activity charter, audit and risk committee charters
  • General Recognised Accounting Standards (GRAP)
  • International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) of the Institute of Internal Auditors (II A): (1) Definition, (2) Code of Ethics. (3) Standards, (4) Practice Advisories and (5) Practice Guides.

Duties:

  • Develop and review the system documentation
  • Compile and review the audit programme
  • Compile and review the audit working papers Gather and check whether the evidence supports the audit findings
  • Discuss the audit findings during the audit
  • Finalise and review finding documents
  • Compile the draft audit report
  • Compile the audit file œ Complete monthly time sheets
  • Supervise the junior personnel.
