Job Description:
A large South African Information Technology Establishment is
looking for the services of a Principal Business Consultant - MS
SharePoint at their offices in East London. The company is a major
player in the South African market and is one of the best known
leaders in their field. Their customer base is primarily the Blue
Chip South African Corporates and their relationships within these
companies have been well established over the years.
Background :
The position could be defined as a combination of traditional
Presales Support and Product Management within a defined Microsoft
Solution and Product Segment. It requires a combination of
Technical and Business skills.
Requirments :
The successful incumbent will :
- Have an understanding of Microsoft SharePoint and Search
Technologies.
- Define and document ( package ) solutions based on the
SharePoint Technology that can be taken to market by a Microsoft
Solution Sales Team.
- Develop business plans ( inclusive of all business plan
elements ) that will support and justify the SharePoint business
stream for which the consultant is responsible. In addition, the
incumbent will commit to the financial projections of the Solution
Stream.
- Actively drive the business stream through the Sales Channel
and via a relationship with the relevant counterpart at Microsoft
South Africa.
- Be able to engage and communicate on various levels with
customers and Microsoft as a partner, both verbally, in writing and
via presentations.
- Understand the customers' Business and Technical requirements
and translate such requirements into a solution, based on the
Microsoft Technology.
- Interact and collaborate with other consultants or relevant
colleagues in finding synergy amongst other offerings across the
various business streams.
- Have ownership of the technical response ( Quotations, RFI, RFP
and RFQ ) for the solution stream. This will include the pricing
according to the Microsoft Solution Framework ( MSF ). Practical
knowledge of MSF and MOF ( Microsoft Operational Framework ) are
required.
- In the Post Sales environment, will participate in Project
Definition Workshops and together with the Technical Architects, be
instrumental with the projects' kick-off.
Required level of education :
- MCTS: Microsoft SharePoint 2010, Application Development
- MCTS: Microsoft SharePoint 2010, Configuring
- MCTS: Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, Application
Development
- MCTS: Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007,
Configuration
Minimum level of qualifications required :
- MCTS: Microsoft SharePoint 2010, Application Development

Previous experience required :
- Two to three years' basic SharePoint customization
- Five to eight years' SharePoint Administration, Installation
and Support
Advantageous experience will be :

As this position is based in East London, some travelling to
other cities will be required. Remuneration is market -
related.
