Requirements: An Honours Degree in Psychology and Registration with
HPCSA as Psychometrics
(Supervised Practice), Psychometrics (Independent Practice) or
Registered Counsellor.
Experience: Twoyears supervisory experience.

Duties: Provide technical support to labour centres for the
delivery of career guidance services:
- Provide support for the establishment and maintenance of
resource centres
- Coordinate the training of career counselors to deliver on the
service
- Provide technical support to career counsellors
- Coordinate the implementation of employability enhancement
programmes in the province
- Monitor, evaluate and report on performance
Manage the process referral of job seeker to relevant employment
service interventions:
- Facilitate the implementation of the employability programmes
in the Province
- Manage the delivery of psychometric assessment
- Provide resource towards delivery of psychometric
assessment
Coordinate advocacy campaigns and the dissemination of
information to labour centres:
- Source relevant employability enhancement information
- Disseminate employability enhancement information to Labour
Centres
- Facilitate career exhibition and job fairs
Establish and manage relationships between career counsellors
and relevant organisations:
- Enhance employment interventions of people with disability
- Facilitate linkages with associations for people with
disabilities to enhance employment of people with disability
- Facilitate implementation of rehabilitation programmes through
career counsellors
- Provide support for the establishment and maintenance of
resource centres
Manage all the resources of the Division:
- Manage the performance of the unit which involves coaching,
mentoring and take corrective action where required, develop
performance standards and evaluates team and individuals
- Monitor staff regarding human resource such as leave,
recruitment and grievances
- Compile the work plans for the section including the
consolidation of operational plans into the directorate’s overall
work plan
- Manage the budget of the unit and monitor expenditure patterns
as per the prescripts.
