Job Description:
B Com or equivalent with Accounting a major
3 years experience in financial accounting environment
Financial systems
Financial accounting
Relevant legislation, policies and procedures
Budgeting and budgetary control
Financial statements and reporting
Tax legislation
Reconciliations
Audit reports
Accounting principles / IFRS
Develop, implement and manage the salaries and wages accounting
section and the financial aspects of works order system together
with delegated general functions relating to vehicle hire, fuel,
petrol and diesel cards, miscellaneous debtors and VAT, in order to
enable financial transactions to be correctly accurately and
timeously accounted for as to enable the company to
achieve its financial business goals according to policies and
international financial reporting standards
Direct and manage activities of staff
Interpret, implement and maintain financial policies for
governed expenditure issues
Develop, implement and maintain financial procedures, methods
and control systems
Correct, accurate and timeous accounting of financial
transactions according to international financial reporting
standards
Manage the implementation of audit reports
Manage and implement strict control measures re the
confidentiality of the input and output of salaries and wages
Authorised cheque signatory to review / release trade creditors
and salary related payments
Any other request by management that can be reasonably related
to financial departmental functions to facilitate continuity within
the department.
