Job Description:
A three-year tertiary qualification in IT and storage-related
certifications such as Managing Storage works EVA; SAN
Fundamentals; Accelerated SAN Essentials
CNEand MCSE would be an advantage
A minimum of 5 years' experience designing, implementing and
troubleshooting storage technologies, including SAN, NAS, fibre
channel, enterprise storage arrays, raid configurations and data
replication to support high availability
Proven knowledge of the HP Storage Works disk array family (EVA
8000) and EMC product offerings
Proven knowledge of the HP Storage Works Library family
(ESL)
Experience in backup and recovery, advanced trouble-shooting,
server network configurations, systems administration, database,
file and data structures
Knowledge of Novell products, Windows Server environment (NT
2000, 2003, 2008) and Linux
Knowledge of risk assessment procedures, policy formation,
role-based authorisation methodologies and authentication
technologies.
Implement and administer the HP EVA and EMC Storage Area Network
solution (SAN)
Lead the development of strategies for storage infrastructure,
existing technology and new strategic direction
Architect and design how storage-related hardware and software
are integrated into the infrastructure
Manage IT s storage resources, including backup and restore
solutions across all supported platforms such as Novell OES,
Windows and Linux
Diagnose and repair errors in storage, backup and server
hardware, including related software across all platforms
Ensure that the latest backup and file management software
updates are available and implemented
Co-ordinate with Systems Developers and Network Administrators
to facilitate capacity
Provide technical support and direction for the storage
enterprise environment
Lead the development and maintenance of enterprise storage
capacity planning and performance.
