Job Description:


THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE ARE ESSENTIAL:

  • N3 Boilermaking
  • Boilermaker Trade Test
  • Upto 3 years as a Boilermaker Supervisor
  • Supervisory Development Programme Certificate
  • Upto 1 years experience as a Underground Boilermaker
  • Upto 2 years experience as a Process Plant Boilermaker

THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE WOULD BE ADVANTAGEOUS OR OPTIONAL:

  • Upto 2 years experience at Central Steel Fabrication Workshop
  • Shutdown Planning ad excecution
  • Project software experience

ALTHOUGH NOT LIMITED TO, THE INCUMBENT'S MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Steel Fabrication Services: Supervision of: Fabrication and installation of assemblies for production sections, Fabrication and erection of assemblies for ancillary steelwork for buildings. Plan, organize and control the fabrication work for the sections. Control quality in the fabrication work for the sections. Manage and develop the performance of work group members in fabrication activities. Prepare structural steelwork detail drawings for the fabrication of steel for the sections
  • Reports: Compile work priority list and resource requirements; accurate shift and work order reports; and communicate resource requirements. Complete safety, injury, hazard, risk and incident reports; allocated work orders sign-off; job cards and description of work and spares used; role administration requirements completed and communicated; planned maintenance schedules and ad hoc reports.
  • Customer relations: Maintain relations with internal customers to ensure departmental needs are met and colleagues are satisfied. Provide relevant and specialised technical support to applicable stakeholders.
  • SHREQ: Enhance safety awareness throughout working area. Ensure working area and equipment is clean and safe at all times and in good working condition. Ensure and comply with safety standards guidelines, policies and procedures. PPE is worn during shift and safety rules and regulations adhered to. Declaration of safe working place. Oversee housekeeping principles are adhered to.
