Job Description:
A qualified Database Administrator is required to participate in
the assessment, development and implementation of long-term
strategic goals for databases and application servers in
conjunction with data owners and managers
Requirements:
- 3 year tertiary qualification in Information Technology /
Information Systems / Computer Science
- DBA Certificate - ADDED ADVANTAGE
- Working experience in managing relational database management
systems (SQL, Sybase, Oracle)
- Experience in T-SQL
- Training in relational database management and optimisation,
application server management and optimisation and software /
product specific training
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, maintain and ensure adherence to policies,
procedures, guidelines and standards
- Conceptualise technical solutions to complicated business
problems
- Supervise and provide guidance to staff
- Conduct research into new techniques, technology and
solutions
- Install, administer and optimise database server and
application server related components
- Design, develop, implement, monitor, maintain and
performance-tune databases
