Job Description:

Electrical Design Engineer - EPCM

Long Term Contract (2 Year renewable)

The Role:

• The role will incorporate delivery of electrical engineering design, and support to various projects. The projects vary in nature, from EPCM to Modular to Marine.
• HV/MV power distribution design from overhead lines and sub-stations to LV plant power supply
• Electrical LV design of Motor Control Centers, small power and lighting.
• Electrical LV design of earthing systems
• Diesel power generating plant (MV/LV)
• Using drawing office resource generate cable schedules, single line diagrams, equipment layouts, schematic diagrams (MV & LV), wiring diagrams, connection diagrams, etc.
• Prepare specifications, scopes of work, tender BOQ's and cost estimates
• Involvement in determining cable rack routing in plant structures and material handling structures
• Project lead electrical discipline directly under your control.
• Manage outsourced resources or consultants.
• Witnessing of factory acceptance testing, (FAT)
• Willingness to travel to remote sites to witness or resolve electrical design queries or problems.
• Possible onsite commissioning presence/lead.
• Assist in the preparation of relevant documentation, work flows, procedures, and work instructions in line with the principals of ISO 9001:2000 QMS.

Skills and Experience:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (Registered with ECSA is an advantage but not a prerequisite)
• Electrical engineering knowledge and relevant experience
• Prior experience in electrical design, procurement, installation/construction commissioning and operations of all related electrical systems/components.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of recent experience in an EPCM environment is essential.

• Excellent communications- written and oral
