Job Description:
As the Bancs System Accountant for Capitec Bank
you will be responsible for performing the daily settlement of
account reconciliations, ensure that all uploads of journals are
done timeously and correctly, ensure provisioning is done on a
monthly basis as well as the daily settlement of 3 rd parties.
The Bancs System Accountant will also be
responsible for monthly analytics, daily updating of stats and will
maintain relevant procedural manuals. This position will also
assistant the Systems Accountant with any ad hoc tasks.
Requirements:
Candidates must be in possession of a relevant tertiary
qualification (i.e. B.Comm) in Financial Accounting and have a
minimum of 3 years reconciliation environment.
Knowledge of management accounts, computerised accounting systems
and principles (Great Plains) and financial analysis and
interpretation is essential
Understanding of database structure design and data mining and
analysis would be preferred. Basic knowledge of SQL would be an
advantage.
High attention to detail (accuracy), analytical and interpretation
skills, innovative problem solving capabilities and the ability to
work independently and as part of a team are all required.
Ability to follow a structured and methodical approach to
resolving queries, ability to resolve problems without constant
supervision and the ability to deal with Senior Management in order
to solve discrepancies.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate
(verbal and written) effectively across varying levels is
essential.
Candidates must be Computer literacy (Advanced Excel preferred) and
have a drivers licence together with a clear credit and criminal
record.
