Job Description:
ENVIRONMENT:
ThisCape Townbased company is looking for a dynamic Snr .Net Web
Developer to join our growing team of developers. The successful
candidate should have a minimum of 3 years experience and knowledge
of ASP.Net, MVC, C# and VB.Net.
DUTIES:
1. Maintenance and updates to client's websites, content
management systems and databases.
2. Abide by development best practice guidelines and remaining
in touch with current trends and technologies.
3. Use of SQL scripts to manipulate data.
4. Create and maintain databases.
5. Project testing of your development work completed.
6. Setting up and maintaining content managed website: Umbraco
CMS, WordPress etc
7. You will master Umbraco CMS and take responsibility for
complex CMS and website development projects.
8. You will be guided by and assist our Senior Web Developer who
oversees the team's projects, to ensure the quality and fulfilment
of the company's products and services.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Experience:
1.1 A minimum of 3+ years' experience.
1.2 Experience in an online / digital / brand agency
environment.
1.3 Experience in developing content managed websites (CMS).
2. Knowledge & skills:
2.1 ASP.NET 2.0 - 4.0 and MVC.
2.2 C# and VB.NET.
2.3 Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and 2008.
2.4 Good knowledge of stored procedures and database
design/normalisation.
2.5 HTML / XHTML / CSS knowledge and ability to integrate
frontend templates efficiently into CMS products.
2.6 JavaScript / JQuery /Ajax/ JSON.
2.7 Knowledge of .NET-based CMS products like Umbraco,
Dotnetnuke or similar.
2.8 Good knowledge of object orientated concepts and design
patterns.
2.9 SOAP Web services creation.
2.10 XML and XSLT.
ADVANTAGEOUS:
1. Umbraco CMS experience hugely advantageous.
2. PHP / MySQL.
3. WordPress CMS.
4. Search Engine Optimisation (SEO).
5. Facebook Developer skills i.e. Facebook Connect, Facebook
API, FBML apps.
