Design, implement, maintain, and improve facilities, components, products, and systems for OHS/Security/Risk, industrial, and domestic purposes. To maintain and ensure that buildings and their services meet the needs of the occupant and users efficiently, safely and cost effectively as possible.

  • Budget and Cost Management
  • Manage CAPEX
  • Insurance- Ensure compliance to insurance requirements
  • Handling of insurance claims in conjunction with finance
  • Facilitating all risk audit/underwriters surveys/etc. (Marsh)
  • Ensure compliance to the OHS Act (Administration and operational)
  • Compliance to other relevant act, regulations and by laws
  • Monitoring compliance of all service providers and contractors
  • Alignment to the company Logistics internal safety standards Requirements
  • Ensuring the facility is in proper state of repair as per the planned maintenance schedule
  • All machinery are running effectively and maintained
  • Cleaning standards are approved and the management of the cleaning company is actioned
  • Ensure the preventative cleaning plan is put in place and actioned
  • Garden services are managed accordingly
  • Waste and recycling management
  • Ensure the preventative maintenance plan is put in place and actioned
  • Action grey water projects in support of sustainability
  • Action electricity sustainability projects
  • Electricity and water consumption cost per case
  • Manage Equipment & Areas to be managed daily as per the list of Equipment & Service Housekeeping
  • Maintenance
  • Equipment & Service Providers
  • Business Continuity standards and plans
  • Supporting the shrinkage strategy by actioning prevention projects
  • Ensure shrinkage committees are in place
  • Investigate and understand the insight to damages and preventative measures
  • Reclamation standards to be actioned and disciplines implemented
  • Claims insight and preventative measures to be implemented
  • Ensure detailed insight is provided, analyzed and actioned
  • Coordinating investigations
  • Managing the security service provider to expected standards

Candidate Requirements
  • Matric / grade 12
  • 2-3 years relevant tertiary qualification
  • National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current)- advantage
  • 3-5 years’ experience as Security and Facilities/Maintenance Manager
  • Understanding of building and construction
  • Knowledge of Machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repairs and maintenance
  • Public safety and Security
  • African language /s- preferred

  • Knowledge of:
  1. Operational systems and procedures
  2. Reporting procedures
  3. Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  4. Understanding of OHS and security principles
  5. Housekeeping
  6. Management of infrastructure
  7. Vendor management
