                People Management

 

  • To create a high level of enthusiasm amongst all Retail Operations management and associates through effective Human Resources Management aimed at constantly improving levels of “willingness & ability” ;
  • To optimise store management potential in order that they may generate as much positive energy as possible.
  • To manage regional operational recruitment;
  • To ensure compliance with all statutory requirements as they apply to all regional operations.

 

 

  • To create awareness and the need for superior customer services, effective supply chain mechanisms, controlled procurement, pricing, enhanced profitability and full compliance throughout the region.
  • Ensure store management satisfies customer needs IRO value in service standards, price, quality & availability.
  • To lead all regional operational functions within highly competitive FMCG environment.
  • To be responsible for ensuring that regional stores’ merchandising, displays, branding, product presentation, marketing tools are utilized in the most effective manner in order to expand customer base and market penetration throughout the region.
  • Lead regional store and operational compliance standards, ethics, housekeeping, health and safety standards and to ensure standards are maintained at the highest standards, through effective planning and pre-retailing in consultation with all stakeholders.
  • Lead regional marketing initiatives, regional branding and regional promotions.
  • Lead all regional operational personnel and store management controls.
  • Coordinate regional operational reports.

 

 

  • To be accountable for the region’s profitability fiscal controls, budgeting and producing sustainable results regardless of variable external factors.
  • To be responsible for improving regional profitability as measured through: gross profit, margins, profit before tax, agreed budgets and growth targets, financial and expense controls, as well as working capital management and effective cash flow management.
  • Accountable for Risk management, including shrinkage, statutory, health & safety controls, regional administrative controls and preventative planning to eliminate all potential risk to the business.
  • Lead buying, regional pricing structures.
  • Lead GMROI, stock control and stock days.
  • Lead debtors, including controls over obsolete stock throughout the region.
  • Coordinate regional fiscal reports.

 

D Procurement

 

  • Develop and support regional trading plans with the support of National Traders / Buyers, Regional 
  • Management and Promotions Personnel.
  • Lead regional interaction with supplier’s representatives to fulfill the required service levels and responsiveness to Shield Region /Member needs.
  • To measure overall category stock-holding according to plan.
  • To manage margin and influence mix by range, price and promotion.
  • To measure and track Regional performance
  • To manage Supplier behavior (service levels, competitiveness, stock availability and obsolete stocks.
  • To visit Stores to ensure Merchandise standards are according to plan.
  • Provide direction in category management and profitability.
  • Person would call on Saverite stores within the Northern Cape, Free State, and Lesotho Regions, reporting directly to the Shield Gauteng Regional Manager.


Candidate Requirements

Knowledge / Qualifications

 Matric with relevant tertiary qualification in Finance/Marketing/Business Management and or related field;

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a FMCG/le/Retail environment in a related store operations / buying and managerial role.

 Skills / Competencies

  • Grade 12 / Matric essential with related tertiary qualification
  • Sound knowledge of /FMCG site environments and workflow requirements; 
  • Intermediate  to advanced Microsoft Office skills;
  • Sound knowledge of  all related  fiscal, marketing & operational responsibilities within FMCG environment;
  • Experience in FMCG statutory, including related health and safety requirements;
  • Proven Business/Financial management/Buying competencies;
  • FMCG operations, marketing and branding skills knowledge;
  • Sound leadership, customer services, and people management competencies;
  • Excellent communication skills.

  •  3 days & nights min a week on the road calling on Saverite members
  • 5 – 7 Retail Ops Experience
  • Drivers License
