Junior Network Administrator - Rosebank (Gauteng)
Qualifications:
- Matric
- Degree with computer related subjects
- Matric and University transcripts must be submitted with every application.
- 0 - 2 years experience
- Working knowledge of Windows 2003/8, Active Directory, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
- Experience with working with server hardware - building servers, configuring RAID sets, installing servers in racks etc.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Software and internal processes
· Provide assistance in the planning and implementation of office automation solutions
· Investigate options of solutions for new equipment or internal software products requirements
· Provide assistance in testing new equipment and internal software products
· Implement and or coordinate system updates and replacement of 'old' versions
· Manage the intranet and its information
Hardware and network
· Ensuring networks & servers are fully operational
· Monitoring Network and Server performance
· Capacity planning of server hardware and software
· Ensuring servers can be recovered in the event of failure
· Conforming networks to specification and best practice
· Prepare technical reports on the operation of systems
· Developing & maintaining network-support-related documentation
· Ensuring network defences (firewall & AV measures) are adequate & updated
· Liaising with relevant 3rd parties towards the resolution of technical issues
· User administration
· Network printer administration
· Administering Email & Web access
· Administering Anti-Virus Solutions
· Building & re-building of servers
· Monitoring of security events & ensuring compliance with Security Policy
· Providing support & technical advice
· Designing, implementing & supporting backup solutions
· Administrating & supporting Windows2003 and 2008 server
