Table Grapes
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A recognized degree in Agricultural Economics preferable with viticulture or related discipline. Relevant skills and experience in table grapes industry is advantageous.
SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS AND CORE COMPETENCIES
The successful candidate must have the following skills, knowledge and competencies:
- Sound understanding of emerging and developed markets’ dynamics and structures.
- Be able to communicate and motivate, orally and in writing, the research proposal, findings and trade issues.
- Is able to work without close supervision and in a team.
- Be able to maintain cooperative relationships with table grape producers and exporters
- Computer literate with recognized data management skills
- Good communication skills
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Operate and manage the Company’s information “one-stop-shop” hub through, Quantitative research focuses on gathering and analyzing statistical data and Qualitative research focuses on people's experience and perceptions.
· Initiate and undertake technical research on markets in line with the Company’s market diversification strategy.
· Collect, review industry data and apply high level and appropriate statistical techniques to analyze and generates reports.
· Initiate and conduct economic evaluation of production regions.
· Maintain the industry benchmarks in collaboration with accountable ISP’s
· Management of assigned projects in terms of budget& timeframes: Gannt and PERT charting
· Liaise and maintain relationships with representatives from major competitors such as Chile, Peru, Argentina, Brazil and Namibia
· Provide necessary support to other divisions of the Company and ensure the Company strategy is implemented.
